Lee Chang-ho launches his singing career

On an apparent whim, Lee Chang-ho announced today that he’s retiring from professional Go and pursuing a life-long dream of professional singing. According to his agent, Lee Chang-ho will soon set out on a 12 month World Concert Tour, performing his favorite Sinatra tunes. Here he is singing the old blue-eyes classic “My Funny Valentine.”

The Go world was stunned with the unexpected news. Gu Li was quoted as saying “Wow, I didn’t know he could sing.” Park Junghwan, confused with it all, could only respond with, “Frank who?” Lee Sedol’s reaction was a little more heated:

WTF? Now he decides to move into a singing career, just when I’m about to return from my sabbatical? I wish he would have said something about this to me back in June. I play a pretty mean Glockenspiel. Where’s my brother?

Lee Chang-ho’s first concert appearance will be at the Holiday Inn Sunset Lounge in Ames, Iowa. Tickets are now available through Ticket Master. Updates to follow.
